MSC Completes New Shedd Aquarium Corporate Offices
Modular Structures Corporation of North America (MSC) has just completed
a temporary addition to Chicago's John G. Shedd Aquarium, the largest
indoor aquarium in the world. MSC's 7 modular units create a 5600
square foot temporary office space above the aquarium's existing Wild
Reef exhibit. These temporary offices will allow 30 Shedd employees to
continue business as usual while the aquarium remodels its permanent
offices over the next two years.
MSC's dramatic addition of 7 modular structures to the Shedd's south
platform required the use of a 500-ton crane, one of only 14 this size
in the world. Beyond the temporary office addition, MSC also acted as
the project's general contractor overseeing all interior work.
The result is a spacious, functional office environment that allows the
aquarium to maintain staff productivity in the midst of a long-term
permanent expansion. |
